South Burnett residents have been invited to join a national initiative and “Walk 4 William” on Saturday (September 12) to help raise public awareness about the missing NSW toddler.
Police believe three-year-old William Tyrrell was abducted while playing outside his grandmother’s house at Benaroon Drive, Kendall – on the NSW mid-North Coast – on September 12 last year.
The South Burnett event is being held at the Wondai Sportsground from 10:15am (to start walking at 10:30am) on Saturday.
Organisers have asked that people wear a Spiderman outfit – the last clothing that William was seen wearing – or the colours red and blue.
The distance covered will be two kilometres.

The Walk 4 William events, which have sprung up almost spontaneously around Australia, aim to somewhere jog someone’s memory or conscience.
Police have appealed for information about two cars — described as a dark grey old-model, medium-size sedan and an old white station wagon — that were parked opposite the house on the day William disappeared.
