Phase 2 of Mayor Wayne Kratzmann’s “Save Our Hospital” campaign involves another display of unity from the local community – this time in the form of a public breakfast outside the South Burnett Private Hospital on Friday morning.

The public submission forms have been circulating throughout the South Burnett since last week – if you need a copies to print out they can be downloaded here as a Word doc – and hundreds more people have signed the submission on the South Burnett Regional Council’s website

All forms have to be returned to Council by close of business on Wednesday.

Friday morning’s breakfast will run from 7:00am-8:30am in Markwell Street, Kingaroy, outside the Private Hospital.

There will be a free breakfast and tour of the hospital.

Corky from CROW-FM will be broadcasting for two hours from 7:00am, and Mayor Wayne Kratzmann will be hosting the event.

Food for the breakfast has been donated by Kingaroy’s IGA Supermarket, and the Kingaroy Rotary Club are doing the cooking.

Mayor Kratzmann said the South Burnett Private Hospital provided a pivotal and very necessary service to the residents of the South Burnett.

“As Mayor of the South Burnett, I am a very proud ambassador for the health services that the community require, that being the South Burnett Private Hospital,” he said.

“I believe it is imperative that a new health service provider be found who can once again partner with council to deliver effective health services for the people of the South Burnett.

“This Friday morning I will be hosting the #saveOURhospital morning and I encourage everyone to come along to show their support, sign the submission and support wall, and enjoy a free breakfast.”

NB. Markwell Street between Glendon and Youngman streets (directly in front of the hospital) will be closed on the southern side to the centre parking from 6:00am to 9:00am. Traffic will still be able to enter the Kingaroy Shoppingworld underground carpark from the Youngman Street end of Markwell Street during this time.
