An elderly Nanango man has been airlifted to hospital by RACQ CareFlight Rescue after an accidental knife wound to the leg.

The patient was in the family kitchen when it’s believed the knife he was using slipped, penetrating his upper leg.

He was discovered by his wife after collapsing.

The Sunshine Coast RACQ CareFlight Rescue crew flew the patient from Nanango Hospital to the Royal Brisbane Hospital about 4:00pm today in a serious but stable condition.
