Kingaroy RSPCA assistant manager Kirsty Minter with Karen Ford and some of those 600+ cup cakes

August 13, 2014

RSPCA supporter Karen Ford has been cooking up a surprise for the Kingaroy shelter … more than 600 cup cakes.

The RSPCA’s annual Cup Cake Day fundraiser raises vital funds for shelters across Queensland, and this is the third year that Karen has helped out.

She’s been taking orders for the past few weeks for eight varieties of cup cake: chocolate, white chocolate, chocolate jaffa, chocolate mint, chocolate mocha, white chocolate coconut, red velvet and caramel white chocolate with salted caramel icing.

And she also been busy baking and icing.

It’s too late now to put in bulk orders for the little treats – which had to be pre-ordered – but it’s not too late to join in the fun.

The Kingaroy RSPCA will have a stall on the footpath outside Foodworks in Alford Street, Kingaroy, on Saturday from 8:30am.

Individual cup cakes will be available for sale for $3 each. Children will also have the opportunity of decorating their own cup cake for a gold coin donation.

Pre-ordered cup cakes can also be picked up.
