The Toowoomba-based RACQ CareFlight Rescue helicopter flew into Manar Park near Boondooma yesterday afternoon to airlift an Ipswich man injured in a motocross accident.

The 22-year-old rider suffered a suspected broken leg and other possible injuries.

He was transported to Toowoomba Base Hospital.

A CareFlight spokessperson said this was the fifth off-road motorcycle rider involved in an accident that the rescue service responded to in southern Queensland yesterday – attending other incidents at Chinchilla, Beerburrum and South Isis.

In the Chinchilla incident, which occurred earlier in the day,  a teenage boy was airlifted to Toowoomba Base Hospital after falling off a trail bike.

The rider, aged in his mid-teens, sustained suspected abdominal and arm injuries.

  1. It will only be a matter of time before RACQ Careflight sets up a permanent base at Manar Park.
