Elisa Detrez, the winner of  Queensland’s “Best Job in the World” Park Ranger competition, visited the Bunya Mountains this month as part of her exploration of the Southern Queensland Country region.

Elisa has been blogging about her experiences online in French, exposing the tourism highlights of Queensland to a worldwide audience.

Her Facebook page, also in French, has almost 9000 likes.

Southern Queensland Country Tourism CEO Mary-Clare Power said that Elisa’s itinerary covered highlights across the region, taking in the best natural attractions, history, heritage and regional flavours.

“Elisa has traveled to some of our standout national parks. She has also had the chance to sample our regional flavours, including some great local produce, cuisine and wines.”

She was selected for the Park Ranger position as part of Tourism Australia’s :Best Jobs in the World” campaign which targeted global youth travellers.

SQCT is the peak tourism industry body for Southern Queensland Country which covere the local government areas of Southern Downs, Toowoomba, South Burnett, Goondiwindi, Balonne, Maranoa and Western Downs.
