The new glovebox-sized guide published by the South Burnett Regional Council

January 28, 2014

The South Burnett Regional Council has begun distributing copies of its new Touring Guide to encourage tourists to make the most of their visit to the South Burnett.

The guide was produced in-house by Council staff members Kimberley Dove and Kerri Le Du, who not only did the layouts but also wrote the editorial copy and took some of the photos.

A total of 40,000 have been printed to ensure wide distribution.

Copies will be available at all Visitor Information Centres throughout the South Burnett.

The booklets are also being distributed outside the shire, with copies already available in Yarraman, the North Burnett, Banana Shire and Rockhampton and will be heading off to Brisbane soon.

The guide is a project of Council’s Economic Development department who decided to produce the booklet in A5 size to make it handy for travellers to slip into glove boxes, map compartments and handbags.

It features sections on things to see and do, wineries, food, where to stay, country pubs, camping and fishing, natural attractions and arts and heritage.
