A 20-year-old former Nanango woman was killed yesterday morning in a head-on smash on the D’Aguilar Highway.

Two vehicles collided about 9:15am on Saturday near the Canando Street intersection with the highway at Woodford.

The woman driver died at the scene.

The driver of the other car, a 44-year-old man, was taken to Caboolture Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and the passenger, a 40-year-old man, was airlifted to the Royal Brisbane Hospital with serious injuries.

The D’Aguilar Highway was closed for a number of hours.

The police Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

This is the second head-on crash on the D’Aguilar Highway at Woodford within a fortnight to claim the life of a South Burnett person.

On December 3, a 58-year-old Memerambi man died in a crash 400m west of the Kilcoy-Beerwah Road intersection.
