An elderly man has died after suffering burns to 90 per cent of his body near Cooyar this afternoon.
Firefighters were called to an out-of-control grass fire on the Oakey-Cooyar Road at Highgrove, south of Cooyar, after receiving triple zero calls about 4:00pm.
The 74-year-old man was treated by paramedics and airlifted for treatment at the Royal Brisbane Hospital but could not be saved.
