Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington says 40 per cent of the State-controlled roads in the Nanango Electorate will have works either underway or upcoming during the next financial year (2013/14).

Mrs Frecklington said she had been lobbying hard for funding for the region’s roads.

“State-controlled roads are those that are managed by the Department of Transport and Main Roads and form our major connection roads, such as the D’Aguilar Highway, Bunya Highway and Brisbane Valley Highway,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“After looking at the funding we have been assigned this year and the works scheduled, of the 30 major roads in our electorate, 40 per cent will undergo upgrades.

“This figure really puts into perspective the amount of roadwork in our region.”

The roads with works include:

  • Brisbane Valley Highway (between Harlin and Toogoolawah)
  • Coominya Connection Road
  • Esk-Hampton Road
  • Kilcoy-Murgon Road
  • Warrego Highway (Jondaryn–Dalby)
  • Dalby-Cooyar Road
  • Oakey-Cooyar Road
  • New England Highway (Hampton-Geham)
  • D’Aguilar Highway (Blackbutt–Nanango)
  • Burnett Highway (Nanango–Goomeri)
  • Bunya Highway (Porters Gap)
  • Kingaroy-Burrandowan Road
