Colin McGregor and Greg Craig, from the Coverty Rural Brigade, accept the cheque from Kayla Embrey, centre, from Supa IGA in Kingaroy

by Greg Craig

Coverty Rural Fire Brigade would like to thank Supa IGA in Kingaroy for the the privilege of being the recipient of the IGA Kingaroy Community Chest.

Last October, Supa IGA Kingaroy donated a hamper to be raffled and the Brigade conducted a sausage sizzle at the complex.

Due to all the fires the Brigade attended up to and including January 2013 – and then being deployed to Maryborough just after the Australia Day floods to assist in the flood recovery program – last week was the first opportunity that members had to accept the cheque for the $400 raised.

The Brigade would like to thank the South Burnett community, and especially Trace, Janelle and Kayla and all the staff at Supa IGA Kingaroy, for all their support.
