About 20 Neighbourhood Watch members and other community leaders from as far away as Kumbia attended the Gympie Cluster Neighbourhood Watch meeting last Wednesday night.

The meeting was addressed by Gympie District Officer-in-Charge Superintendent Chris Sang who spoke about the proposed restructure of the Queensland Police Service and the effect it would have on the Gympie Police District.

Senior Sergeant Mick Symes, who is the Executive Officer of the Gympie District Disaster Management Group, gave a briefing on the recent flooding in Gympie.

Neighbourhood Watch group representatives also gave reports on the progress of their groups and the upcoming activities planned for 2013.

The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 1, at the Gympie District Office, 30 Channon Street, Gympie at 5:30pm.
