Premier Campbell Newman today unveiled his second “Six Month Action Plan” for Queensland.

The plan outlines 148 “priority actions” including launching a 30-year strategic plan for Queensland agriculture.

“The Six Month Action Plan clearly outlines for all Queenslanders the priorities for this government till July 2013,” Mr Newman said.

Actions include:

  • 130 new and replacement ambulances and 60 extra ambulance officers
  • Toughest anti-hooning legislation in Australia
  • Statewide amnesty for illegal and unregistered firearms
  • Minimum mandatory sentences for illegal firearm possession
  • First intake at youth boot camps
  • Reduction in red tape for liquor and gaming
  • Introduce regular public release of crime statistics via the internet.
  • New dingo management strategy for Fraser Island
  • Launch a 30-year strategic plan for Queensland agriculture.
  • Implement the Horticulture Workforce Action Plan
  • Release the forest and timber industry plan
  • Deliver the final report of the Electricity Sector Reform Inter-Departmental Committee
  • Support the actions of the implementation committee into the recommencement of uranium mining
