The South Burnett Regional Council has advised that all landfills / waste facilities throughout the region are closed until further notice due to flooding.
However residents should continue to place their wheelie bins out for collection (if it’s safe to do so) the night before their usual collection day.
Council will endeavour to collect them, however there may be some collection delays until the situation normalises.
Council thanks residents for their patience.
UPDATE 9:30am Tuesday, January 29:
The South Burnett Regional Council advised this morning that the Wondai landfill will be open today from 11:00am to 5:00pm.
The Kingaroy and Nanango refuse collection centres have also reopened.
However, all other landfills / waste facilities throughout the region will remain closed until further notice.
Wheelie bin collection services are being undertaken as usual in Nanango and Kingaroy today, subject to road access.
UPDATE 1:40pm Tuesday, January 29:
The waste disposal facility at Blackbutt is now open.
