The South Burnett Regional Council has celebrated the Movember spirit by hosting a staff sausage sizzle in Kingaroy this week to help raise funds for two of its own “Mo Bros”.

Cr Damien Tessmann and Parks Supervisor Stuart Hall have been nurturing moustaches as part of the annual Movember Challenge.

“This is my first time taking part in Movember. I decided to get involved after seeing firsthand the kind of mental health challenges a local farmer went through and the assistance given by the mental health group Beyond Blue,” Cr Tessmann said.

“All too often those farmers doing it tough financially end up having mental health problems and they are the last ones to ever speak up and let anyone know until it is too late. The least I could do is put up with the light-hearted jabs and grow a moustache during November and help out.”

Cr Tessmann and Mr Hall thanked the staff who donated towards the cause with both indicating that they would take up the challenge again in 2013. They also thanked Shoppingworld Butchery who supplied the sausages for the barbecue.
