Police detected more than 50 traffic offences during “Operation Barracuda” on the D’Aguilar Highway on Friday night.

Police from Caboolture, Redcliffe and Pine Rivers, State Traffic Task Force and the Roadside Drug Testing Unit intercepted drivers at Moore, Wamuran, Woodford and Kilcoy.

The operation resulted in the detection of three drink drivers, with the highest allegedly returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.161.

More than 1360 random breath tests were performed throughout the evening.

Three unlicensed drivers were also detected along with 35 traffic infringement notices issued (15 speeding, one fail to wear a seatbelt and three unregistered vehicles) and 15 defective vehicle repair notices.

Twenty roadside drug tests were conducted with one driver allegedly returning a positive result.
