Police are asking for public help after a man was mugged at the Branch Creek Recreational Area at Lake Wivenhoe last night.
About 7:15pm the man was locking a gate at the recreational area just off Wivenhoe-Somerset Road when he was struck on the head from behind.
The 65-year-old was knocked out and when he awoke, he realised his personal belongings had been stolen.
He was taken to Esk Hospital and then transferred to Ipswich Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
