Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington has welcomed the launch of the State Government’s new “Six Month Action Plan for Queensland”.

Premier Campbell Newman released details of the plan during a speech at the recent LNP State Convention in Brisbane.

Mrs Frecklington said the plan and its action items set out clear delivery targets.

“It is vital that the government and its MPs continue to share our plans with Queenslanders,” Mrs Frecklington said.

“We’re committed to delivering on our promises, improving this State and remaining accountable. There is a lot to do, and for the next six months, this comprehensive action plan will be both a map and a report card.”

The Six Month Action Plan, from July to December 2012, sets out actions which are divided under the five pledges the LNP Government promised at the March Election.

Mrs Frecklington said some of the 149 actions in the Six Month Action Plan that would benefit the people of the Nanango Electorate included:

  • Starting consultation on a 30-year strategic plan for agriculture and developing a timber industry plan
  • Deliver the 2012 roll out of flashing lights at school zones
  • Rolling out 20 extra country race meetings across Queensland
  • Developing a regional tourism strategy consistent with DestinationQ outcomes
  • Expanding the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme
  • Providing all special schools with 20 eTablets
  • Finalising recruitment of 300 new police across Queensland
  • Preparing for the introduction of new, tough anti-hooning laws
