New Channels As Austar Fades Away

The merger of Austar and Foxtel will mean some new channels for pay-TV subscribers in the South Burnett.

All Austar customers in rural and regional areas will automatically transfer to Foxtel from July 1 and the Austar branding will cease to exist.

But according to Austar, there are no plans to change the current pricing structure.

There will also be some channel changes: Eurosportnews, W and TCM will be moving into the Starter Pack and MTV Hits and MTV Live will be added to the Fun Option.

Discovery, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild and MTV Live will be available in high definition for the first time.

Sports customers will gain access to an extra eight dedicated London Olympics channels at no extra charge.

There will also be a change in the telephone number for service calls.

Between now and June 30, Austar customers should continue to call 13-24-32. From July 1, this number will change to 13-19-99.
