Kingaroy hosted two of Australia’s Biggest Morning Teas … and although both would be counted a fund-raising success, one was definitely “the biggest”.

The Cancer Council of Queensland’s South Burnett branch attracted almost 100 people to its sit-down morning tea function held at the Anglican Church Hall.

Patrons listened to guest speaker Susan Hickey from the Cancer Council of Queensland’s Toowoomba branch as they sipped their tea and nibbled on tasty treats baked by volunteers.

Across in the Glendon Street forecourt, Neil Rose (of Dancing Barman Karaoke fame) was hosting another morning tea complete with amplified music, fun and games. South Burnett Regional councillors, getting ready for their inaugural meeting tomorrow, dropped by to make a donation along with other passers-by.

Funds from both events will go the Cancer Council of Queensland to assist with cancer research and educational programs.
