Kingaroy-based Bean Growers Australia has successfully applied to have a liquidator appointed to pulse marketer Blue Ribbon Group which has reported debts of more than $11 million.

Blue Ribbon, which began in 2000, is based at Richlands in Brisbane and specialises in pulse sales both internationally and within Australia.

It handles a large range of pulses – including mung beans, soybeans and chickpeas – as well as seeds, spices and grains.

The Supreme Court in Brisbane has appointed Artemis Insolvency as the liquidator for Blue Ribbon Grain & Pulses Pty Ltd and Blue Ribbon Seed & Pulse Exporters Pty Ltd.

BGA applied in November last year for a winding up order against the two Blue Ribbon Group companies, and this was granted on December 1.

Creditors have been asked to submit their claims to Artemis Insolvency before January 31.
