An all-day training workshop will be held in Kingaroy next month for rural landholders wanting to learn about new ways to manage pest animals.

The workshop, on February 7, will include practical training and accredited chemical handling safety training.

Topics covered will include PAPP baits (para-amino propiophenone) and canid pest ejectors (using 1080 capsules) which are new methods to control wild dogs and foxes.

Eligible participants may also qualify for a Statement of Attainment in the following nationally accredited units:

  • AHCCHM303 – Prepare and apply chemicals; and
  • AHCCHM304 – Transport and store chemicals

The free workshop has been organised by AgForce Projects with support from the Queensland Farmers Federation and the State and Federal governments.
