RACQ CareFlight helicopters were called to assist four motocross riders at different crashes across southern Queensland at the weekend.
The Toowoomba-based crew flew to Manar Park, near Boondooma, on Sunday.
A CareFlight spokesman said a 31-year-old Hervey Bay man suffered chest injuries after hitting a tree at speed.
He was treated by ambulance paramedics and the helicopter’s medical team before being airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
Also on Sunday, the Toowoomba helicopter travelled to Gap Creek motocross park to retrieve a man in his mid-50s after he suffered a lower leg injury as a result of a crash. He was airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
Earlier, a 37-year-old Sunshine Coast man suffered head and arm injuries as a result of a collision between two bikes in a State Forest near Coochin Creek. He was airlifted to Nambour Hospital in a stable condition.
On Monday afternoon, a 31-year-old Toowoomba man was airlifted after a high-speed crash at a Southern Downs bike track.
The man suffered suspected spinal injuries in a crash at the Hayworth Park Motocross Track, south west of Toowoomba.
It is believed he was travelling around the track at speed, when he mistimed a jump and landed awkwardly.
He was treated at the scene before being transported to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
