Work is powering ahead on the Nanango streetscape project but it also means there will be some more traffic disruption in the area.

On Monday (October 12), the South Burnett Regional Council plans to erect the new al fresco structure on the Bendigo Bank corner of Drayton and Fitzroy streets.

In order to provide a safe environment for the workers, it will be necessary to close off the eastbound leg of Drayton Street between Fitzroy and Henry streets, and the southbound leg of Fitzroy Street before the new roundabout.

Through traffic heading west in Drayton Street and north in Fitzroy Street will not be affected.

“Detour” signs will direct traffic around the work area.

Motorists have been asked to drive carefully in the area.

After work hours, these barricades will be removed and the intersection will revert back to typical use.
