The “Drop Dead Gorgeous” Kym Scott, from Kingaroy

September 3, 2015

There was enough blood sloshing around inside the Kumbia Memorial Hall on Saturday night to keep even the thirstiest vampire feeling satisfied.

The 22nd annual Kumbia Brain Drain had plenty of brains, as well as blood and bones, on display in keeping with the theme of “Nightmare on Bell Street”.

The wacky trivia night is a major fundraiser for the Kumbia State School P&C and regularly attracts patrons from as far away as Brisbane.

More than 200 people packed the hall, competing for prizes for each round of trivia as well as for their ghoulish costumes.

Compere Damien Martoo was the quizmaster who kept everyone in line by wielding a chainsaw …

Creepy footnote: Wes Craven, director of the original “Nightmare On Elm Street” movies, died on Sunday morning.

Laurie and Kirstin Curtain and neighbour Kellie Barron were some of the ghouls keeping the night running smoothly
Rachel McNamara and Scott and Racheal Collier, from the “Bloody Marys”
Clowning around …. Chris Clark, from Nanango, with Ben Stokes and Donny Greeff, from the Sunshine Coast
