The audience at Murgon Town Hall on Thursday night for the official premiere of the “Beyond Barambah” short film has given it a big thumbs up.

The video features students and teachers from the “Barambah Cluster” of State schools: Cherbourg, Cloyna, Goomeri, Moffatdale, Murgon, Wheatlands and Windera State schools, Murgon State High School and Proston P-10.

It was made by country singer Josh Arnold and supported by sponsorship from the University of Southern Queensland.

Murgon Town Hall was packed for the launch. The audience waited patiently, listening to various speakers, before the big moment when the lights were switched off.

When the film finished, there was a spontaneous round of applause.

Josh said he was felt honoured to have been given the opportunity to make the film.

“It was really daunting. A challenge how to represent nine schools,” he said.

He thanked the students for “opening their hearts” to him when he visited their schools.

He also thanked the principals, teachers, USQ and his “great documentary team” for making the documentary possible.
