St Mary’s students whipped the opposition into shape at the recent Queensland Whipcracking Titles held at Clifton.

The team came home with two firsts as well as two seconds and a third:

  • Samuel Irwin – 1st Peewees Class, plus Encouragement Award
  • Stephanie Arrell – 1st Novice Class, 2nd Juvenile Class
  • Meg Wernecke – 2nd Novice Class
  • Jorja Curran – 3rd Juvenile Class

Proud mum Mistey Curran, from Kingaroy, said the team members wouldn’t be resting on their laurels as they had a very big year ahead of them.

They will be cracking their whips at the Proston Show next weekend.

Then they will be doing a workshop in Kingaroy on March 14 with the famous The Crackup Sisters

In May they will be heading off to the Gympie Show for more competition.

The team also hopes they will be able to return to the Brisbane Exhibition again later in the year.
