Nanango businesswoman Margie Lee-Madigan has been named as one of Avon’s top 10 sellers in Australia – an incredible effort considering there’s about 50,000 Avon representatives in the nation.

“It was an honour to be recognised as being in the top 10,” Margie said recently.

“I have a loyal and wonderful clientele of over 500 customers, who have helped my business grow.

“I am so thankful for the support of my customers and the rural community.

“I am the only rural based Avon Representative in the top 10 and number one in Queensland, so that has been a real achievement.”

Margie came in as Number 9, a  success that makes her a member of Avon’s Top Achiever’s Council for the second year in a row.

She also came in top spot in District 810, which has more than 800 representatives and covers well over a quarter of rural Queensland.

“I was also very proud to win the Bronze Mrs Albee which is a coveted Avon prize awarded to most improved sales from the previous year,” Margie said.

“This is the fourth year in a row that I have won this very sought-after award.

“I started with Avon nearly six years ago because I loved the products and didn’t start out thinking of this as a business. I was inundated with demand from rural women like myself and I continued building a loyal customer base.

“My life on the land as a cattle grazier allows me to service both my Avon customers and run our family property.

“Over the years I have created so many friendships through my home-based Avon business and it has given me the strength to battle through the recent hard times that Mother Nature has dealt us.”

She said the future for being an Avon representative was still very strong.

“The guarantee I can give my customers, the range that Avon offers and the new products they keep sourcing means I’ll be continuing with Avon for quite some time,” she said.

As a rural based representative, Margie has embraced digital technology to combat the logistics of travel.

“Avon has now given me my own website and I am continuing to learn and grow,” Margie said.

“I have built a strong team of Avon representatives like myself who have embraced the opportunity to earn an income whilst still having the freedom to be a mother, family and other outside interests.”
