Gympie mayor Ron Dyne has been granted a leave of absence from Council as he continues his treatment for cancer.
Deputy Mayor Tony Perrett will fill in during his absence.
Mayor Dyne, who has been receiving chemotherapy, was unable to attend this week’s Council meeting.
He confirmed last month that he had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
