Constable Courtney Briggs, Senior-Constable Kym Scott and Constable Chris Barron spotted this suspicious character hanging about the carnival; fortunately a lot of children could vouch for his good character

December 13, 2012

An unusual thing happened in Kingaroy this evening … a Christmas Carnival was held and it DIDN’T rain!

(Who says climate change isn’t real?)

The many young families who turned out on a balmy evening enjoyed a wide range of rides, live music on stage, market stalls and a special visit by an old gent in red who attracted crowds of young fans.

All the usual highlights proved as popular as ever … the Kingaroy Rotary Ham Wheel, the Kingaroy-Taabinga Rotary hamburgers, face-painting and, of course, Santa.

The South Burnett Speedway Club also had a special display this year, promoting their upcoming National Super Sedan Series (NSSS) race meeting in Kingaroy on Saturday.

Star driver Matt Pascoe, the 2009/2010 series champion, was on hand to sign autographs for his young fans.

This is the fourth year that the Kingaroy Christmas Carnival has been organised by the South Burnett Young Leaders Association.

Geoff Hosking and Val Hooper from the Kingaroy Rotary Club were working hard on the ham wheel

Addison, 4, and Ella, 2, Fleischfresser were enjoying all the fun of the fair

Sally Charles from the Kingaroy RSPCA took ‘Roxy’ out for a walk

Amber Goldsmith was rocking on stage

The climbing wall was as popular as ever
National Super Sedan Series driver Matt Pascoe, who’s currently leading the competition, was signing autographs for young fans
David and Damon Musch … David will be representing the South Burnett in the National Super Sedan Series at Kingaroy Speedway on Saturday night
A couple of Santa’s elves made it to Kingaroy, too … Annette Newman and Teresa Francis from the Kumbia State School P&C Committee
