It’s deadly cool to go to Moffatdale State School: Years 4-7 students enjoyed a great day of activities

Moffatdale School celebrated Harmony Day on Thursday … a day to bring cultures together.
Children, parents and community members took part in a fun-filled, action-packed day.
There was a play that told an Aboriginal story of how birds got their colour, songs, painting, boomerang throwing, a display on the history of Cherbourg, Dreamtime stories, Indigenous games and much more.
An evening kup-murri dinner - tender vegetables and meat cooked on hot rocks laid one-metre deep in the ground – finished the event.
School principal Sharon Tuesley said the day built inter-racial friendships and broke down cultural barriers.
“It showed how much school can do to bring people together, widen their knowledge and create a happier future for all our children and communities,” she said.
“Today was a terrific day and I think everybody who took part would feel the same way.”
