New Year's Eve Rodeo - Goomeri
The Goomeri Show Society will be holding their annual New Year's Eve Family Rodeo at the Goomeri Showgrounds today and tonight to help ring in the New Year. Gates will open and junior rodeo action will start at 8:00am, pre-performance at 2:00pmand the main rodeo will kick off around 3:30pm and continue into the evening. The event is a full NRA-affiliated Rodeo, so you can be certain of seeing some really top class action. Events on offer include an Open Bull Ride, Saddle and Bareback Broncs, Barrel Racing, Breakway Roping and the popular Poddy Rides for all the junior cowboys and cowgirls. There'll also be a Rodeo Queen and Princess Competition. And after the rodeo concludes there'll be an after-party with Route 33 until late. A full bar and BBQ will be operating all day and night, and there's also camping available on the grounds if you want to stay over after the party winds down. Entry fees for spectators are $20 for adults, $15 for young people aged 12 to 17 (under 12s are free), $10 for pension card holders! (Rodeo entrants should check out the NRA website
Amy Varley - Maidenwell
Amy Varley will be playing live on tonight at the Maidenwell Hotel from 7:30pm to midnight. The kitchen will be open and there's free camping and free hot showers available all through the festive season.
NYE Beach Party - Kingaroy
Alternator (aka the Dave Lynch Band) will be playing live in the beer garden at the Commercial Hotel, on the corner of Glendon and Haly Streets, Kingaroy, from 8:30pm tonight; while DJ BRZ43 will be spinning discs in the Sports Bar from 10:00pm to 2:00am. MISfITZ - Kingaroy
Popular local duo MISfITZ, aka Rob and Clare Fitz-Herbert, will be playing at the Carrollee Hotel, in King Street, Kingaroy, from 5:00pm tonight in the Bistro. Admission is free. Book a table on (07) 4162-1055.
ABBA Music Night - Wondai
The Wondai Hotel 1903 (the bottom hotel in Haly Street, Wondai) will be hosting an ABBA-themed music night from 8:00pm to late this evening. There'll be prizes for the best-dressed, so break out your flares and platform shoes! The music will be provided by DJ Dreamweaver. Entry is free.
Villains NYE Party - Kingaroy

Footsteps - Wondai
South Burnett duo Footsteps will be performing music from the '60s to the '90s from 7:30pm tonight for New Year's Eve at the Wondai RSL Sub-Branch Club at 87 Mackenzie Street. The Wondai Lions Club will have a barbecue running from 5:00pm to 7:30pm.
Let's Go 80s - Kumbia
The Kumbia Hotel, in Bell Street, Kumbia, is going all 80s-style for New Year's Eve. The fun is due to get under way at 6:30pm so come along in your fluoro gear! There'll be karaoke, slushies and a barbecue dinner for $25 (children $12). More info? Phone the pub on (07) 4179-0029.
Alcoholics Anonymous - Nanango
Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of people who share their experience, strength and hope with each other to solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for AA membership. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organisation or institution.
