Goomeri Pumpkin Festival

The main day of the annual Goomeri Pumpkin Festival will begin about 8:00am this morning with the Pumpkin Olympics and entertainment on the Main and Park stages. As usual, the Pumpkin Festival will feature a wide range of market and novelty stalls; all-day live entertainment; roving entertainers and pumpkin-themed competitions. The Grand Parade will be at 10:15am and the Great Australian Pumpkin Roll down Policeman's Hill around 2:00pm with cash prizes. Joy flights on board a helicopter can also be booked! Kilkivan Pub Pig Races

Arise! Festival - Wooroolin

A festival featuring workshops, markets, wellness classes, healing, psychic readers and more will be held from 9:30am today at the Wooroolin Memorial Hall, on the Bunya Highway at Wooroolin. Tickets are $15 (under 16s free) and can be booked online

Bunya Mountains Markets

The Bunya Mountains Markets, held on the last Sunday of every month, will be running at Dandabah in the Bunya Mountains today. The markets feature up to 30 stands selling quality, locally produced fresh produce, arts and crafts and they'll be operating from 9:00am to 2:00pm. Local cafés like Poppies On The Hill and The Bunya Mountains Café will be offering special Market Day menus and morning teas, lunches and afternoon teas. Walking trail maps will be available from both cafés, the Bunya Mountains General Store and market stalls if you'd like to take a stroll through the adjoining National Park. More details? A free community lunch is available every Sunday from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at The Old Railway Station building, O'Neill Square, in Kingaroy. The Community Serving Community Meals Project is co-ordinated by the South Burnett Support Alliance and relies on volunteers from the local community.
