2026 Kingaroy ShowThe first day of the two-day 2026 Kingaroy Show will be held at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street from 8:00am until late tonight. In addition to the usual big range of stud cattle, poultry and wood-chopping, today's show will also feature monster trucks; show dogs; tractor pulls; harness racing and a whole lot more! There'll also be the largest sideshow alley in the region. The Show's official opening will occur in the main ring at 1:00pm followed by the Grand Parade. There'll also be a giant fireworks display about 8:00pm that will light up the night sky. And don't forget, the Kingaroy Speedway will be on Sunday night from 5:30pm! Two-day tickets are $35 adults, $25 concession & high school students (age 12 and under are free if accompanied by a paying adult). One-day tickets are $20 adults or $15 concession & high school students. Family passes are also available. Tickets can be booked online
Nanango Country Markets
The Nanango Show Society will be holding their regular monthly Country Markets at the Nanango Showgrounds in Cairns Street from 6:00am to 11:30am today. As usual, the markets will feature a wide variety of craft stalls, new and used goods, plants, poultry and pets. The Nanango Markets are the largest rural market in south east Queensland and attract up to 420 stallholders. But new stallholders are always very welcome too! More info? Ringsfield House Open Day - Nanango
- Historic Ringsfield House, 41-45 Alfred Street, Nanango, is hosting an Open Day today! Local artists will be featured in the art gallery from 9:00am to noon, plus tea and scones will be available on the verandah for $12.00 per person from 9:00am to 11:00am. (As a bonus, visitors can also pop on down to the Energy Museum in Henry Street where the historic Nanango Butter Factory diesel motor will be fired up this morning or drop in to inspect the former Masonic Lodge in Gipps Street which will also be open for inspection!)
Offroad Outlaws Enduro - Okeden
Today is Day 2 of the three-day Offroad Outlaws Enduro 4x4 event which will see some of Australia's top off-road buggy drivers test their skills on tracks near Proston. The event is being held on a private property at 46-64 Old Proston Road (Melrose Pump Station Road), Okeden (signs will be showing the way off Proston-Boondooma Road). There'll be food vendors on site, night events and spectator prizes. Single-day spectator tickets are $51.55 for adults (over 16) or $25.93 for children (aged 5-16). Under 5s are free. There are also three-day passes (includes camping) available as well as family passes. Tickets can be booked online. Get Ready South Burnett - Boondooma Dam
South Burnett Regional Council is hosting a night of fun, food and resilience from 3:00pm to 9:00pm tonight at Boondooma Dam. There'll be games for the kids, free drinks, popcorn and a sausage sizzle as well as a screening of the classic comedy movie Evan Almighty from 6:00pm. This is a chance to meet your local emergency services, pick up some disaster preparation information and enjoy a fun night out! A free bus will be running from Proston Community Hall at 3:00pm and 5:30pm, returning at 5:00pm and 9:00pm. BYO camp chairs or picnic blankets.
A Taste Of Permaculture Life - Tablelands
- Bottle Tree Hill Organics are running a two-day Introduction To Permaculture course this weekend. Day 1, from 9:00am to 4:30pm today at Tablelands Hall, will introduce the theory and practice, while Day 2 tomorrow will visit a property at Ficks Crossing. Rugby League - Nanango
Nanango Stags will be hosting Round 2 of the South Burnett Rugby League's senior competition today at Fred Kassulke Oval in Nanango. Gates open at 12:30pm. At 2:00pm, Cherbourg Hornets v Wondai Wolves; at 3:45pm, Nanango Stags v Kingaroy Red Ants; and at 5:30pm, Blackbutt-Yarraman Timbertowners v Murgon Mustangs. Today's event will also salute Anzac Day, with an Anzac ceremony at 3:30pm and an Anzac jersey auction at 5:45pm.
Go Getta Girls - Kingaroy

Proston Khanacross
The Proston Car Rally Club will be holding the first day of their weekend-long Proston Khanacross at their race track today, 7.5km west of Proston at 757 Proston-Boondooma Road. Racing will begin at 10:00am this morning and wrap up towards nightfall with spectacular burnouts from 5:45pm. Drivers come from all over Queensland for the weekend and spectators are very welcome to come along and enjoy a family-friendly weekend! There'll also be a big screen in action tonight and DJ Richters will be spinning discs. A canteen and bar will be running all day. Free camping is available on site. Kaimkillenbun Trail Ride
- Today is Day 1 of the Kaimkillenbun State School P&C's annual two-day Kaimkillenbun Trail Ride through farm paddocks and the foothills of the Bunya Mountains. The ride camp is set up near Skermans Road at Moola with the riders briefing at 8:30am today. There is an Open Track and a Novice Track, with tracks open from 9:00am to 2:00pm each day. Big Rosella Field Day - Woolooga
Petersens Farm, at 8 Reilly Road in Woolooga, will be hosting Day 1 of their annual weekend Big Rosella Field Day between 9:00am and 3:00pm today. This event, now in its 11th year,features local foods, farm tours, artisan and boutique markets, live music, art, cooking demos and much more. Petersens Farm are Australia's biggest producers of the quirky, hot-pink fruit (also known as wild hibiscus) and there’s something for everyone at this event from those who fondly remember their grandmother’s rosella jam from long ago to avid foodies keen on paddock-to-plate dining and the resurgence of rosellas as a gourmet superfood. Widgee Bushman's Campdraft
The first day of the three-day Widgee Campdraft will get under way at the Widgee Campdraft Grounds near Widgee Hall at 7:00am this morning with heats of the Fabian & Tanda Webb Memorial Novice Draft, the Dustybutts Junior Draft, the Darren Falconer Memorial Juvenile Draft and Round 1 of the Open Draft. A bar and canteen will be running on site all day, admission is free for spectators and everyone is welcome! There'll be live music this evening and camping is available on-site.

Wheelchair Basketball - Murgon
South Burnett Blasters Wheelchair Basketball will be played today from 10:00am to noon at the South Burnett PCYC in Macalister Street, Murgon. The Suncoast Spinners are a social sports club which caters for both physically disabled and able-bodied wheelchair basketball players. Participants don't need to use a wheelchair every day to play! All equipment is provided but players must wear enclosed shoes and bring a water bottle. Wheelchair basketball is an all-abilities game and everyone is invited to come along and have a go! It is held at the PCYC every fortnight during school terms.
Saturday Night Bingo - Kingaroy
