Yarraman New Years Day Festival
Yarraman will be ringing in the New Year with a four-hour News Years Day Festival in the Errol Munt Recreation Grounds off the New England Highway just west of the CBD from 5:00pm until 9:00pm this afternoon and evening. The Festival will feature lots of great family fun including a special appearance by Blazer The Bear; live musical entertainment; market stalls; a licensed bar; food and beverages; and a range of free amusement rides for children including jumping castles; a slide; Zorb balls in a pond; and dodgem cars. There'll also be a big fireworks display after dark. The Festival is run by the Yarraman Progress Association and co-sponsored by Toowoomba Regional Council. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

The South Burnett Speedway Club will be holding the second day of their third meeting for the 2016-17 racing season at their track inside the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy this afternoon and evening. The focus of this two-day meeting will be the SRE SSA National Street Stock Title, and there'll be heats and finals for this today, as well as V8 Super Sedans competing in the Summer Slam Tour for a change of pace. The main gate will open at 3:00pm and the first pedals will hit the metal at 5:00pm. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for concessions and students.
