Friendship Markets - Kingaroy
The third Saturday of the month Friendship Markets will be held at the Cheers Triangle end of the Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy from 7:00am to around 12:00pm today. The markets are jointly run by the Kingaroy Rotary Club and Kingaroy Show Society and they feature a great array of arts, crafts, fruit and flower stalls. New stallholders are always very welcome! Kingaroy Touch Association Sign-On Day
The Kingaroy Touch Association will be holding a sign-on for their firast season (which will run on Monday nights from January 23 until late June) at T.J. O'Neil Oval in Youngman Street, Kingaroy at 10:00am this morning. Fees are $35 for the Tiny Touchies (ages 5-7), $60 for juniors (ages 8 and over) and $1000 for senior teams, which can contain up to 14 players. This year's senior competition will offer two divisions and all levels of fitness and ability are accepted (the KTA will try to place you into the appropriate grade). New players are very welcome! Australia Day Bowls Carnival - Wondai
The Wondai Bowls Club on the Bunya Highway north of the CBD will be holding the first day of their weekend-long Australia Day Bowls Carnival today. Today's matches will be Nominated Mens Pairs with a basket lunch, and the action will get underway at 9:15am. Conditions of play are 3 rounds of 15 end of the bell, and wins to count (plus margins in the event of tied highest score). Proston Men's Shed
The Proston Men's Shed will be meeting at the old railway station building at Railway Park in Rodney Street, Proston for its regular Saturday morning meeting today, kicking off with a cuppa at 9:00am. Wondai Parkrun
The Wondai parkrun group will be holding their weekly 5km timed run at Coronation Park in Wondai at 7:00am this morning. Runners follow a course along the South Burnett Rail Trail and the group is free to join. Three Bowls Triples - Yarraman
