The South Burnett Regional Council will be presenting the region's 9th annual Australia Day Awards at a special ceremony at the Nanango State High School Hall in Elk Street, Nanango at 6:30pm this evening. The awards provide the community with an opportunity to acknowledge and reward outstanding groups and individuals committed to improving the lifestyle experience of our region. The award categories that have been chosen give all the region's communities equal opportunity to nominate individuals and/or groups who've made special contributions to the area, and everyone is welcome to attend. - The Kingaroy Senior Citizens Club will be hosting indoor bowls and cards (500) competitions at its centre on the corner of Avoca and Kingaroy Streets, Kingaroy between 9:00am and 4:00pm today. Australia Day Eve At Kingas - Kingaroy
The Kingaroy Hotel-Motel at the corner of Youngman and Haly Streets, Kingaroy (opposite MacDonald's) will be holding an Australia Day Party from 5:00pm until late tonight to help kick off tomorrow's Australia Day public holiday. The event will be offering many chances to win free promo gear including bar mats, t-shirts, stubbie coolers, thongs and more, along with a pie eating competition at 6:00pm; a $50 gift voucher for the best Aussie hat; and a free sausage sizzle for everyone.
