Big Roll-Up For Ladies Bowls Carnival
Twenty-two teams from throughout South East Queensland converged on the Kingaroy Bowls Club last week to participate in the annual Ladies Kia-Ora Carnival.
Twenty-two teams from throughout South East Queensland converged on the Kingaroy Bowls Club last week to participate in the annual Ladies Kia-Ora Carnival.
Most clubs have been very active over the past week, running the early rounds of club championships and conducting inter-club visits and matches.
It’s a sign of the times: three teenage ladies were among the 28 competitors who took part in the Burnett District Ladies Pairs Championships held at the Kingaroy Bowls Club this week.
I am sure that there won’t be too much activity on the South Burnett’s bowling greens this weekend, except for the odd bit of sweeping and mopping up.
February is rolling along quite smoothly, and all clubs are reporting good roll-ups for their competitions and championship events.
It’s been a good start to 2015 with most clubs getting early rounds of their championships played, or a draw up on the wall.
