The new interim management committee of the Nanango Race Club formally introduced themselves to the racing public at a meet’n’greet held at the Lee Park Racecourse on Sunday morning.
The committee members, who were appointed in February, will serve until the next Annual General Meeting of the Association in September.
About 65 people attended the meet’n’greet.
President Wayne Hancock addressed the gathering in the undercover bookies ring area, answering questions about the future direction of the club.
The committee has already approached the various not-for-profit groups which provided services at race meetings and invited them to continue.
There are also plans for a revamped Fashions of the Field competition.
More than 30 people applied for membership to join the Association at the meet’n’greet.
Their membership applications were expected to be ratified at a management meeting later in the day.
The management committee and volunteers are now getting the facility ready for its first scheduled race meeting for 2025, on May 17.
