A man was airlifted to hospital with suspected back injuries after a truck crash at the top of the Blackbutt Range on Wednesday night.

A dual cab ute and truck collided near Blackbutt Creek on the D’Aguilar Highway.

The ute speared off the highway and down an embankment after the smash.

Emergency services were called to the incident at 10:41pm.

The injured man was transferred by ambulance to an RACQ LifeFlight helicopter which landed a short distance away from the crash scene.

The patient was then airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.

A QAS spokesperson said a second man was assessed at the scene however was uninjured.

Traffic on the D’Aguilar Highway was blocked in both directions while emergency services were at the incident.

QAS paramedics assessed another patient after a second crash on the D’Aguilar Highway overnight.

The paramedics came across the single-vehicle crash near Harlin about 5:10am on Thursday.

A spokesperson said a man aged in his 60s was assessed for a hand injury however declined ambulance transport to hospital.
