Work on upgrading another section of the Mundubbera-Durong Road will begin next week and continue to December.

RoadTek has announced it will begin work on Monday (September 14) on the section between West Boondooma and Proston-Boondooma roads.

The project will strengthen and stabilise the road surface to improve safety and minimise future maintenance, and will include drain and culvert works.

TMR estimates the work will be completed by December 21, weather permitting.

The Department also plans to upgrade signs and clear obstructions from the side of the road.

Work will be carried out between 6:00am and 6:00pm on weekdays.

Motorists should be aware of changed traffic conditions including reduced speeds, lane closures, traffic controllers and minor traffic delays.

This upgrade follows earlier work on a 6.4km section between the Shellytop and West Boondooma road intersections which was carried out between March and June.
