The latest edition of South Burnett Regional Council’s tourism publication, “Let’s Go South Burnett”, has been unveiled.

The 20-page Autumn / Winter edition highlights the South Burnett section of “Australia’s Country Way”, an inland tourism drive that connects Sydney to Rockhampton.

Feature articles focus on the Bunya Mountains, Bjelke-Petersen Dam and Clovely Estate wines.

Upcoming events are also promoted, including the Maidenwell Country Muster, Wondai Street Sprints, Spirit of the Bush Balladeers Muster at Boondooma Homestead, Burrandowan Races, Wondai Country Running Festival and the Winter Craft Festival at the Kingaroy Art Gallery.

The first edition of “Let’s Go South Burnett” was released at Regional Flavours in Brisbane on July 21-22, published as an insert in Sunshine Coast newspapers and distributed in local visitor information centres.

After its publication was criticised by some local tourism operators, Council promised to consult more widely before the second edition was prepared.

“Let’s Go South Burnett” is a key part of Council’s “destination marketing” strategy to promote the South Burnett.
