Employment agency Sarina Russo hosted an open day in Kingaroy on Monday afternoon to allow local employers to find out more about the State Government’s new “Back To Work” scheme.

Sarina Russo Job Access Kingaroy manager Karen Miller said financial assistance was available to encourage regional employers to hire either full-time or part-time workers.

The amount of support depends on how long the employee has been out of work, but the total funding can be up to $15,000 for a full-time worker, or up to $11,250 for part-time workers.

Eligible employees must have been unemployed for at least four weeks prior to beginning employment, and must not have worked for the employer during the past 12 months.

The worker must also have started work with the eligible employer on or after July 1, 2016.
