Nick Frohloff and Carlos Dominiak … proving their skills with Holdens

January 16, 2016

Hot on the heels of proving that he’s the best Mitsubishi mechanic in Queensland, Carlos Dominiak has demonstrated he’s also a dab hand at Holdens.

Carlos, who works at the John Dundas dealership in Kingaroy, won a study tour to Japan after coming out top in Queensland in a skills competition organised by Mitsubishi last year.

Then in the 2015 Holden Technicians Guild program, he earned himself a trip to Melbourne and a day at Holden’s Lang Lang proving ground where he had the opportunity of driving GM-H’s latest vehicles as well as meeting V8 Supercar drivers Garth Tander and James Courtney.

He also earned the right to compete in the National Finals of the Holden Technicians Guild program.

John Dundas colleague Nick Frohloff, who is a 2nd Year apprentice mechanic, also did well in the Guild program, scoring well enough to compete against fellow apprentices in the Queensland title.

Dealer principal Mark Huston said everyone at the dealership was very proud of Carlos and Nick.

“Carlos has proven he’s one of the top 18 Holden technicians in Australia, and Nick has also done very well, particularly as it is the first time he has taken part,” Mark said.
