South Burnett residents dug deep on October 17 for this year’s McHappy Day, raising $2868 for Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Across Australia, $3.6 million was raised to help Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Rooms and the Ronald McDonald Learning Program.

“I want to thank the South Burnett community for their ongoing generosity, as well as the volunteers for giving up their time to help out with McHappy Day,” Andrea Steele, from Kingaroy McDonald’s, said.

“Funds raised will make a huge difference to the regional children and families supported by RMHC.”

She said the national total equated to providing over 25,000 nights’ accommodation for families with seriously ill children in one of the 16 Ronald McDonald Houses across Australia.
