Maddison Biltoft … one of the staff members who will soon be out of a job

June 24, 2015

Competition from other local supermarkets has been blamed for the imminent closure of the Kingaroy Foodworks supermarket.

Owner Phadara Chiv told southburnett.com.au today that he bought the business 10 years ago but he would be closing it for good on Friday afternoon.

He said there was now just too much local competition to keep it going.

Phadara said he would like to say a big thank you to the people of Kingaroy who have supported Foodworks over the years.

The closure will mean the loss of about 10 jobs.

Phadara said there was a “half-price” sale for the last two days to clear the shelves.

Kingaroy Foodworks will be open from 7:00am to 5:00pm on Thursday and 7:00am to 3:00pm on Friday (June 25-26).

The Kingaroy Foodworks store in Alford Street will be closing forever at 3:00pm on Friday

  1. And people want another shopping centre at Kingaroy north development. The people of this town can’t even support the local businesses we have now.
