Police are appealing for help from the public to locate large bottles of drugs which have been stolen from a Brisbane vet.
The emergency veterinary medicine, including drugs used to euthanase horses, were inside two vehicles belonging to a Manly vet hospital which were stolen on April 24.
The vehicles were found at Raceview and Sunnybank a few days later, however the drugs were not recovered.
If a human attempts to use the drugs, the consequences could be fatal.
Police believe the well-being of the community is at risk while the drugs remain in an uncontrolled environment and are urging anyone with information to contact them.
Police believe the drugs could be located somewhere in the Ipswich area.
The drugs stolen include 20 intravenous drugs including the analgesic Torbugesic Tartrate, the sedative Ketamine, and Lethabarb, used to euthanase horses.
“These drugs are specialised animal medications and are not meant for human usage, even small amounts could be harmful,” Detective Acting Inspector Paul Austin said.
“I urge anyone with information in relation to their current whereabouts to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800-333-000.”
