Police searching bushland in the Woolooga area this afternoon located the body of a man, believed to be that of missing Yandina pilot Rob Pavan, 60.
Mr Pavan’s single-engine Jabiru was reported missing on Saturday after he failed to arrive at his destination, Balantree Station near Dixalea, 87km west of Gladstone.
He had taken off from Gympie Airport on Saturday morning.
Mr Pavan was well-known to South Burnett aviators and had attended fly-ins at Angelfield airstrip in Murgon.
The body has not yet been recovered from the remote site.
Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
