The Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service says recruitment has begun to replace a dentist who resigned from the South Burnett Public Oral Health Service earlier this year.

southburnett.com.au contacted the DDHHS after rumours that three dentists had recently left the service.

The Principal Dental Officer for the South Burnett and Western Downs, Dr Sandra Dolan, said one permanent dentist had recently resigned from their position as they had decided to move closer to Brisbane.

“Two other dentists completed their temporary contracts and have been replaced,” she said.

“Recruitment is ongoing to replace the permanent staff member.

“Waiting lists for dental treatment across South Burnett continue to improve and are being maintained under the clinically recommended timeframe of two years for general assessment.”
