TAFE Queensland South West will be holding one-day workshops in Kingaroy and Cherbourg later this month targeting falls – one of the major risks for older people.

The workshops are designed for people working in aged care and related industries but will also be open to the public.

The Falls Prevention Program will be conducted by Leisure and Health TAFE Queensland teacher Christine Gauld.

Attendees will learn how to conduct a recreation program for older persons, followed by how to implement interventions with older people at risk of falls.

The workshops will be held from 8:30-4:30pm on October 13 at the Kingaroy TAFE, and on October 16 at Nurunderi TAFE.

Cost is $190. For more information, phone 1300-914-754.
